Guanacaste Beach Costa Rica is a vacationer’s paradise. It is Costa Rica’s province that draws visitors to its surfing, windsurfing, snorkeling, horseback riding, bird watching, and scenic shoreline beauty. A series of Costa Rica volcanoes create Guanacaste’s eastern border. They reach out and join the Cordillera de Guanacaste and Cordillera de Tilaran mountain ranges which are easily accessible for hikers and create a spectacular view.
Hikers love this area not only because of the breathtaking view, but the dense, lush rain forest houses an array of exotic plants and wildlife. You may even get a chance to see: endangered animals like jaguars and tamirs, the mystical Rincon de la Vieja Volcano area, and vast, culture-rich countryside. Guanacaste is home to Costa Rica’s national tree, not surprisingly, called the “Guanacaste tree”.
Many rivers flow down from the mountains, nurturing the province before being drained by the Rio Tempisque and emptying itself into the Golfo de Nicoya.
The province is most easily accessed by flying into the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica. The opening of this national airport is a main reason for the growing popularity of this area. After arriving at the airport, even the drive to Guanacaste will leave you in awe!
